My son, Sgt. Hason Correa, Combat War Retired Veteran was brutally and savagely attacked and stabbed to death by 4 people he did not know nor had he done any harm in Harlem, NY, 2018. Sgt. Hason survived the bloody and deadly battlefield of combat with receiving and returning enemy fire on the Taliban as well as 2 or more kills of the bad guys to only come back to NY and be killed in the streets like an animal. The case has taken almost 5 years to work its way through the process with 2 defendants receiving 20-life sentences and 2 of the defendants having both murder and gang assault charges completely dropped by DA Alvin Bragg. 1 defendant plead guilty to “Assault with a shoe” and was sentenced to “Time Served” after only serving 14 months. The entire murder is captured on video. This has been a long, hard torturous and traumatizing ordeal for myself, my grandchildren and my entire family. Sgt. Hason’s brutal murder as well as the complete disregard for victims and their surviving families from the Manhattan Criminal Court System is what propelled me into my fight for All Crime Victim Rights by being the “Voice for the Voiceless” across America.
